Jordan's Senior Prom

Our nephew, Jordan's, Senior Year of high school is winding down...he has decided to head to Mizzou next year, won a BOATLOAD of scholarships and awards and is looking forward to his college years:)  However, there are a few high school things to finish up-including prom!  We traveled down to Red Bud to check out Jordan all decked out in his tux....he looked pretty studly!

My younger sister, Tobi, has had a grat spring semester at SIUE:)  She not only won a full tuition scholarship from SIUE for next year, she also won a scholarship from Alpha Phi, the sorority she belongs to, and won a Who's Who Among Colleges and Universities.  She was honored for the Who's Who award at the University-our mom was able to make the trip down for the awards night, too!  Then we celebrated with Tobi's favorite food-Mexican:)  CONGRATS TOBI!!

She even got a hug from the Chancellor...awww:)

Go! St. Louis 1/2 marathon

On Sunday, April 15, I ran my 3rd 1/2 marathon:)  It turned out to be a beautiful day in St. Louis and the run went pretty well-it was a great course that went by the St. Louis Arch, through the AB Brewery (complete with Clydsdales out to greet us), through the St. Louis University Campus and then back towards the arch. Shane and Mia came down to say hi and see mommy cross the finish line. My time was a couple minutes better than in October-but I am still working towards my goal of beating my 1st 1/2 marathon time:)  I have another shot on June 2!

We took advantage of one of the gorgeous days we had last week and headed to the park in our new town.  We discovered there is a cute little petting zoo, a walking path, lake and lots of playground equipment:)  Mia had too much fun!

After church, we headed over to Aunt Dawn and Uncle Arlyn's house to celebrate Easter with my aunts, uncles, cousins and lots of KIDDOS:)  We had a wonderful dinner and then it was time for the Easter egg hunt-my cousins and I are officially too old-but luckily we have lots of babies to take over the family tradition:)  The kiddos were soooooo cute!!!!  It was  great afternoon and so much fun to see everyone that I do not get to see very often!

Happy Easter everyone!  We woke up on Easter morning and Miss Mia was a little confused-we were walking around the house looking for things-and then she saw her basket:):)  She was so funny-she said ball-and looked at us-like can I touch it?  Then-she caught on super fast!  We had a fun morning hunting for everyone's baskets and then heading to church...

So-Irish Car bombs and Grandma Toni's-2 things most of you would not associate with each other...while we were at Grandma Toni's for Easter Tobi and Brett decided to make Irish Car bomb cupcakes for us Saturday night-and they were seriously DELISH-as in-BEST.CUPCAKES.EVER-leave it to college kids to make cupcakes with alcohol-Guiness and Jack Daniels to be exact-but they were so yummy:):)  Here are some pics of playing around and, of course, the cupcakes!

Deocrating Easter Eggs

We headed up to Tampico for Easter weekend-and one of the first things we did was decorate Easter Eggs.  Mia was TOO funny doing this-as you will see in the pics-she used her crayon on the egg, then decided the egg was a ball and threw it on the table, which cracked the egg:)  Soooooo-then momma decided she could just eat the egg-we peeled it and wellllllll-we will let the pics describe how that went:):)
